RAZZ Blind Dates: “HE’S NEVER BEEN TO TP”

RAZZ decided to celebrate SHAG Week (Sexual Health Awareness and Guidance Week) by arranging some blind dates in the student community! Keep up with the series here.

Agnes was looking for someone who wasn’t a “dickhead” and wouldn’t force-feed her curly fries (she’s gluten free). Tom had high standards, hoping to find a match “who can hold a conversation” and someone who doesn’t have right-wing politics, arguably difficult to find in Exetah. Take a read to find out what happened when they went on their date together.

First, let’s find out what Tom had to say about the date…

What were you expecting from the date?

A chill evening where I could meet someone new in an interesting way!

Any awkward moments?

There weren’t any awkward moments, we got along really well!

Best thing about your date?

We found that we had lots of common interests and managed to find lots to talk about! She was really sweet!

What did you talk about?

We talked about our favourite films, our families, why we chose Exeter University and music.

Would you introduce them to your housemates?

Absolutely!

Describe your date in three words.

Charming, sweet, thoughtful.

What do you think your date thought of you?

I’m hoping that I came across as funny and charming! I thought we had a good connection.

How long did the date last? Were you happy with that?

2 hours, and yeah it was really good! She had to leave for a social.

What degree classification would you give your date? (1st/2:1/2:2/3/FAIL)

1st

Would you meet again?

Hopefully!

Tom seems to have finished his date brimming with positivity for ‘sweet’ Agnes and hopeful for more interactions in the future. Now let’s move on to what Agnes thought…

What were you expecting from the date?

I honestly had no preconceived ideas. Part of my brain (and my housemates) said I might meet the love of my life and the other part just thought it would be a laugh and a fun experience to be a part of.

Any awkward moments?

No! It was very stress free. Although there is a big step at the entrance of the pub and I nearly fell up it lol.

Best thing about your date?

I guess just how well I got on with a complete stranger. And how nice it is to not know someone at all and be able to talk about everything under the sun.

What did you talk about?

Our degrees (English and physics so worlds apart); theatre; music societies we’re involved in; family; film/tv.

Would you introduce them to your housemates?

Definitely as a friend yes. Really lovely guy and kind personality. HE’S NEVER BEEN TO TP SO WE WOULD ABSOLUTELY TAKE HIM THERE.

Describe your date in three words.

A northern, space-loving actor.

What do you think your date thought of you?
I hope he thought that I was a good listener and that I was interested in knowing about his life because I really was! He might of thought I was a bit backwards because I kept hating on London and bigging up country life in Cornwall haha.

How long did the date last? Were you happy with that?

2 hours and yeah it was a nice amount of time – we covered a lot.

What degree classification would you give your date? (1st/2:1/2:2/3/FAIL)
2:1

Would you meet again?

Definitely as friends yes! Such a lovely guy.

It seems like both Agnes and Tom really enjoyed their date and would like to see each other again in the future, but maybe just as friends. But given that a TP trip is on the cards, we never know what might happen in Top Top…
