Winner of this year’s Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film, A Fantastic Woman will be shown at The Exeter Phoenix this weekend. The film follows the experiences of a transgender woman called Marina in the aftermath of her boyfriend’s death. The film was written and produced by Gonzalo Maza, a current student at Exeter University working towards his PhD in film, and Daniela Vega – the first openly transgender actress in Chile – has been celebrated for her performance. Receiving a huge amount of critical acclaim, including from The Guardian for its ‘timelessness’, A Fantastic Woman is definitely not one to miss. Here are the showtimes:

Friday 16th March 7:30pm
Saturday 17th March 6:30pm
Sunday 18th March 1pm
