Preview: The Amazons @ Exeter Phoenix

Described as ‘a belter, a shout-it-to-the-rooftops, punch-the-sky, yell-along-at-the-top-of-your-voice storm’ of an album by The Daily Telegraph, The Amazons’ new album promises not to disappoint fans on their UK tour this October. The band will be heading down to the Exeter Phoenix on 11th October 2017 for what promises to be a fantastic rush of good music.

Formed in 2014, the Reading-based rock group has shot to fame this year with their self-titled debut album reaching #8 in the album charts this summer. With support from Radio 1 and a successful debut appearance on Later…with Jools Holland, The Amazons have taken the UK in their stride with performances at the Reading and Leeds’ Festivals and at Glastonbury.

The Amazons have also released a new video for their fans’ favourite track, ‘Ultraviolet’. The video reflects the band’s explosive performances amplified by animations showing their raw energy. The video’s director, Oscar Sansom, describes the band as having an ‘amazing effortless rock’n roll attitude and sound. The rest of the album includes ‘Stay With Me’, ‘Black Magic’, ‘Little Something’, and the softer piano ballad ‘Palace’.

With a sold out tour this October, The Amazons have announced further UK tour dates for February 2018. So if you missed out on the rush for October tickets at the Phoenix, keep an eye out for dates in February for a brilliant performance, that will be one for the books.
