Thread art is exactly what it sounds like: art made from thread. Here are some of the best artists in the field.
Preschoux’s works are spontaneous, simply drawing the thread out and seeing where it takes him.
“The important thing is to have a tactile relationship with the material, to be able to dread the qualities and the defects” – Preschoux
Preschoux collaborates with photographer Ludovic le Couster to capture the installations. The setting of natural environments allows him to strategically harness the natural light.

Dawe is a Mexican artist who creates “site-specific installations that explore the connection between fashion and architecture, and how they relate to the human need for shelter in all its shapes and forms.”
Dawe’s work has a more industrial feel than Preschoux, placed in a warehouse-like setting.

Lukas does a very different sort of art using thread. Rather than creating installations, he makes ‘thread paintings’.
The thread is stretched over the box canvas, shifting colour as the light changes, and creating a ghostly effect.
The collection is called ‘Larva, Bubble and Thread’, because he also uses larvae. They crawl across the canvas, interacting with the paint and leaving random tracks.
Lots of Razz love. Katy, xxx
