As you may remember, Razz did its issue 9 photoshoot at the charity based book shop, Book-Cycle. Just to refresh your memories, Book-Cycle works on a basis that you come in and pay what you want for a book for a selection of donations (most people choose a fair price I might add!). You’re allowed to roam around in this nature for up to three books per day. Then, with the money Book-Cycle makes, and from other book donations, they work to supply developing countries in Africa with educational books for children.
Now Book-Cycle has surpassed themselves with their recent success in their Ghana Library Build Project 2012! Supported by the community Book-Cycle, headed by volunteer, Sakeenah Feghir, have pulled together with the community to send a massive shipment of books for schools in the Ashanti region of Ghana.
On Friday 9th March this shipment of over 50,000 free books were sent off in order to help provide an education for young children. For their next task, Book-Cycle is hoping to join hands with a publishing company to provide duel language books to continue education in developing countries.
Book-Cycle works in and around their local community, working to expand their charity and support other causes such as home food growing and planting of trees to support wildlife.
